3rd Quarter

Dear Friends,

Soon, we shall be entering into the last quarter of the fiscal year. But for the love, affection & the cooperation from each one of you, it would have been extremely difficult for me to have done anything working out of Bangalore. Therefore, I would like to thank each one of you for having not only supported me during the time that has gone by but also for being very understanding & accommodating.

Though, I started the year in an unhealthy & uncertain environment, I had set some modest & practical goals for the year. This was announced during the AGM and a planner along with the calendar was sent out in the form of Ready Reckoner. I have updated the same for its current status and am sending it as an attachment for your perusal. In most cases, we have achieved/ executed the plan, while in the rest; we shall do so in the last quarter. At this point of time, I would like to congratulate those conveners who have executed their plans effectively and at the same time, I would like to offer all the support to those who would like to do so in the last quarter. The objective is to implement our plans & achieve our goals before we demit the office. I would like to summarize on the following with respect to our plans:

  • This year, the primary objective was to enjoy Tabling by having more fellowships thereby improving our friendship, bonding & relationships. I’m glad that this has been achieved successfully. Thanks to Tr.Vadi for his tireless efforts on this front. I would also like to thank those Tables & their Chairmen (Tr. Umesh for the Area AGM in August, Tr. Kittu for the Khichadi in September, City Tables for the Cricket/NEX meet/ National level X factor in October, Tr. Vijesh for the Area level X factor in November, Tr. Vinay for the AEX/Christmas party in December, Tr. Kumar for the National AGM in January, Tr. Nilesh for the MTM in Feb and Tr. Rajesh for the Firangi in March.) for having given us a fellowship event each month. We are now looking forward to 178’s 100th meeting in April, Vadi’s Stag Party in May & 37’s 41ers day in June.
  • I have special regards to Tr. Parshu for his ever innovative IT skills. He has made the life of all Tablers easy by introducing many features in to the system. I am surprised by his speed; in having the articles up on the blog even before I could send out an appreciation note to the host Table or even before it appeared on the National Blog. I would strongly recommend him as the National IT convener so as to change the way it works. I will definitely speak to the incoming President on this.
  • I wish to thank Riyaz for having set up the secretariat. He has already obtained most of the materials and his efforts are on the rest.
  • I would also take this opportunity in thanking Tr. Bipin for the memorable MTM at Mahabaleshwar and Tr. Kumar for his untiring efforts in giving RTI an excellent National AGM.

  • On the HRD front, Tr. Bryan has already anchored the Text program and is now set to give us a great ‘Leadership Conclave’ in the last quarter.
  • Some of the activities such as Magazine, Area AGM, Area Handbook, Twinklers’ exchange program, Fundraising, 41ers day were any way planned to be implemented in the last quarter. All these are in the planning stage and the respective conveners (in the same order- Tr. Anand, Tr. Gautam, Tr. Banakar, Tr. Ravi, Tr. Pradeep & Tr. Rajesh) will be providing the details at the board meeting.
  • There has been some contribution on Extension, Greeting cards, Supply house & Publicity front. Though, I had decided not to pressurize any Table on these, surely there is more that can be done. I request the respective conveners to make effective use of the remaining 3 months and add more value to them.
  • The most satisfying but a challenging experience this year was the handling of the Arbitration committee. Although, it took a lot of our time, it was worth in many ways; more so as providing a permanent solution in all facets. Earlier, I had sent out a detailed report on this with special thanks to a host of Tablers including Sandeep & Gautam and therefore would not like to elaborate here again.

In addition to the above planned activities that have either been completed or are in the pipeline (for implementation in the last quarter), there are few that I would like to take up personally with the assistance of my head table ( Tr. Sadiq, Tr. Ritesh & Tr. Shankar) during the month of May. They not only require continuity bur also my physical presence over certain duration. They are:

Official visits to Tables.

Completion of all on going school projects, disbursement of remaining funds from RTI, payments of remaining dues to the Tables, finalization of all balances sheets/ account statements and permanent closing the Area project bank account.

  •  To make special visits & revive the 3 Tables in the Area.
  •  To organize a press meet.
  •  To get my self de-stressed through Satya’s meditation course (or vice versa)

In view of the above, I’m relocating to Hubli with my family for the whole month of May. I’m available on all the 30 days for tabling related activities. Definitely, I will be troubling all of you for the whole month.

In addition to the Tablers I have thanked in this mail, I have many more names of those that have helped me this year. I would like to reserve this list for my outgoing address at the AGM. Otherwise, if I did so now, it would seem that I’m handing over my jewel along with this letter.

Bye & see you all at Belgaum.

Let’s bridge relationships through ‘a touch of friendship’

With regards

Tr. Mohan Mankani
